How to Know If You Have a Good Home Inspector
There are quite a few home inspectors out there, but not all of them are created equally. In truth, many home inspectors are actually quite bad at their jobs, you just don’t know about it because of the fact that you have not been trained to try and understand them in the same way that they have been trained to try and understand you.
There are a few things that you can do to see if your home inspector is up to the mark. For starters, you can see how thorough he or she is being. A home inspector’s entire job description is to be as thorough as can be, so if you see that they are not being as thorough as you would like you could always tell them that this is the case and ask them to be a little more thorough so that you can know that they are doing the job that they have been hired to do.
A lot of home inspectors also report problems that are somewhat insignificant. They do this in an attempt to seem a lot more competent than they actually are, something that is common among inspectors that have not been properly vetted and have been sent to you without a legitimate amount of training having been done.
Too many home inspection companies these days are trying to pull the wool over your eyes. As a savvy consumer, your job is to make sure that they are not able to trick you, at least not as easily as they would like. Try to focus on better home inspection practices and attempt to do enough research that you can do a somewhat thorough preliminary inspection yourself.
